Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the Commissioner’s Room of the Administrative Building located at 201 St. Andrew Street, Tarboro, North Carolina. The purpose of this public hearing is to consider and act on a proposed addition to Article V. “Recovery of Response and Cleanup Costs for Hazardous Materials” of Chapter 8 of the Edgecombe County Code of Ordinances.
The proposed addition will give Edgecombe County the authority to contain, control, abate, and cleanup spills of hazardous materials or other substances, and will authorize the County to recover any and all of the expenses and costs for the removal, abatement, and cleanup actions it, or its agents or agencies, undertakes. A copy of the proposed ordinance addition is on display for public inspection in the Office of County Manager, in the County Administration Building, Room 402 St. Andrew St., Tarboro, NC 27886 during regular business hours.
