Bridge Construction on Highway 42 in Old Sparta Community & Use of County-owned Property
The NC Department of Transportation has plans to replace a bridge in Edgecombe County on Highway NC 42 in the Old Sparta Community. The County owns a parcel near the proposed construction site which was acquired after Hurricane Floyd with Federal Hazard Mitigation Buyout Funds. Edgecombe County proposes to grant a temporary easement and permission to regrade portions of this deed-restricted lot to NC-DOT.
The property is located at 3095 NC 42 East and identified as parcel # 4724-95-0564.
Citizens who wish to comment on proposed use of this County-owned property for this purpose may comment by contacting the Office of the County Manager at (252) 641-7834. A copy of the proposed plans is available for review in the County Manager’s Office in the Administration Building, 4th Floor, 201 St. Andrew St., Tarboro, NC 27886. Comments will be accepted for fifteen (15) business days from the date of this notice.
