Are you ready? We're in the midst of hurricane season, and there are already storms forming that could impact us. We can’t totally remove these weather related treats, but we can be better prepared. A good place to start is by preparing an emergency kit.

Basic Disaster Supplies: 

1 gallon per person per day for 3 to 7 days

Non-perishable food supply for 3 to 7 days

Battery-powered radio & extra batteries

Cell phone with charger

First aid kit & first aid book

Flashlight & extra batteries

Important medicines

Anti-bacterial hand wipes or gel

Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities

Blanket or sleeping bag per person


Seasonal change of clothing & sturdy shoes

Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, feminine supplies

Extra house and car keys

Important documents – insurance policies, identification, bank account records

Fire extinguisher - ABC-type

Cash and change

Books, games or cards
